Following a morning assessment, school is canceled today due to observed ponding in parking lots and roadways. We anticipate possible snow/freezing rain around 10:00 am, aligning with the arrival of student drivers.
All locations and offices will remain closed, prioritizing the safety of our families, faculty, and staff by encouraging everyone to stay off the roads.

📣 Pike Road Schools will follow their regular schedule tomorrow, January 17. It will be a COLD weather day, so please ensure students are dressed warmly, especially those who will be waiting at bus stops. 🧤🧣

Due to the potential of inclement weather in the early morning hours tomorrow, January 16, Pike Road Schools will be on a 2-hour delay.
We will use this time to check road conditions and buildings and provide faculty and staff extra time to commute from outside the Pike Road area. If the roads are considered unsafe, PRS will notify you of any school cancellation by 7:00 am.

Parents,
We are closely monitoring the weather and the impact it could have on our area. Please plan ahead for the possibility of school cancellation or delay as we ensure safe passage on our roads and bridges. We are also watching the status of faculty and staff living outside our area that may be impacted by the winter weather.
You will be alerted through email, text messages, and phone calls if any changes are made.

We are closely monitoring weather patterns. As Pike Road is in the zone of ENHANCED severe weather for tomorrow, 1/12/24, please plan ahead for possible school cancellation or early release. A decision will be made and released by this evening. Please stay tuned for updates.

The National Weather Service has downgraded the risk for potential severe weather to SLIGHT for Pike Road. We will continue to monitor the weather throughout the evening.
All schools will be open tomorrow, and operating under their normal schedule with no delays or early release planned.
Please stay safe & and weather-aware throughout the day tomorrow.

Due to the potential for severe weather conditions tomorrow morning (January 9), our schools will delay opening for 2 hours. Buses will run 2 hours later than normally scheduled and schools will open for students 2 hours after their regular time.
*Breakfast will not be served tomorrow.
Please stay safe and weather-aware this evening.

The weather forecast calls for a possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms overnight and early tomorrow morning that may impact our school day. We will monitor the weather reports throughout the evening and overnight. If we change our school day schedule, we will alert you on social media along with a text message, phone call, and email. Please stay weather-aware as the forecast continues to develop.
